Bengaluru, July 27: Indian shuttler HS Prannoy, who won the US Open Grand Prix Gold title recently, has gained six places to be ranked 17th in the latest badminton world rankings.
There are Indian 4 men in the top-20 of the rankings, after the weekly update today (July 27). Kidambi Srikanth is the highest Indian at number 8.
Ajay Jayaram is ranked 16th while B Sai Praneeth is at 19th spot. Praneeth lost one place while Srikanth and Jayaram have remained static after this week's updated table.
Sameer Verma is at 28th position, jumping 4 spots, and Parupalli Kashyap gained 12 places to be at 47th. Kashyap lost the US Open final on Sunday (July 23) to Prannoy. Sourabh Verma is at 37th spot.
In the women's section, PV Sindhu remained at 5th place while Saina Nehwal dropped a spot to be at 16th. They are the only two Indians in the top-25 list.
