Wellington, Feb 13: Australian batsman Adam Voges bettered Indian batting legend Sachin Tendulkar's 12-year-old Test record, today (February 13).

With another undefeated knock, the right-handed Voges has now gone past 500 runs without being dismissed even once. His terrific run of not out form started in December 2015 against West Indies in Hobart.

Tendulkar held the record for most runs without being dismissed between Test matches. He had scored 497 runs in 2004. Tendulkar had scores of 241 not out, 60 not out (both versus Australia in Sydney January 2004), 194 not out (Vs Pakistan in Multan March 2004) and 2 (Vs Pakistan in Lahore April 2004) between January and April 2004.

Now, Voges has become the first batsman in Test history to aggregate 500 or more runs without losing his wicket. When on 123 today, he went past Tendulkar's record.

With today's knock, Voges has also surpassed the great Don Bradman in terms of batting average. He is averaging 100.33 as on today after 14 Tests (19 innings). Bradman ended his illustrious career with 99.94.

Voges had to wait till the age of 35 to make his Test debut. He finally got a chance to wear the Baggy Green in June 2015. He announced his arrival with 130 not out on debut against West Indies in Roseau. Since then he has scored 5 tons including today's.

In his maiden Test in the Caribbean, at the age of 35, Voges became the oldest batsman to score a Test century.
