After Cricket, Sachin Tendulkar becomes God for Cancer patients

Mumbai, Jan 24: Sachin Tendulkar, who is known for god of cricket, seems to have become a real god for those patients who could not afford to go for proper treatment.

Sachin along with pediatrician wife Anjali donated Rs 10 lakh to the Bai Jerbai Wadia hospital for supporting the awareness of cardiac diseases amongst children.

Sachin, who recently retired from cricket, also launched the Little Hearts Marathon supporting cardiac disease awareness. The marathon will start on Feb 9th. According to sources, the marathon will start from Siddhivinayak temple and end at the Bai jerbai Wadia hospital in Mumbai.

The former cricketer, who earlier had worked for the society at different occasions, claimed that it was an honour for him to support the noble cause. The cause was initiative by Dr Yeshwant Ambedkar who is the medical director at the hospital.

Dr Ambedkar is Anjali's guru. Speaking about his wife's guru, Sachin was quoted as said, "What Achrekar sir is to me, Dr Ambedkar sir is to her. He has a huge role in guiding her to become a doctor."

Rs 10 lakh, which has been donated by the celebrity couple, will be used for a ventilator which will be installed in the hospital.
