Alex Hales and Ben Stokes' Twitter banter will make you go bonkers

New Delhi, Aug 16: Ahead of their first ever day and night Test, England cricketers Alex Hales and Ben Stokes involved in a hilarious Twitter banter.

The cricketers who are a part of England squad set to face West Indies in their maiden pink ball encounter poked fun at each other in a series of tweets on Tuesday (August 15).

The origin of the banter between the Hales and Stokes started with an image shared by their fellow teammate Stuart Broad. Broad uploaded an image of his fellow Englishman James Anderson on his Instagram account, asking his fans to caption the image.

The right-arm pacer wrote, "Caption This. 📸 @jimmy9 @benstokes38 @root66 @moali @alexhales1 https://www.instagram.com/p/BXz38ilgvl5/".

While fans came up with several funny captions but it was Hales' reply, where he trolled all-rounder Stokes, which made the entire episode interesting.

Stokes too jumped into the banter on being poked by his fellow teammate and didn't shy away from trolling the latter.

This is how the two made funny remarks against each other, and later called for a truce:

Earlier, while talking about the upcoming pink-ball Test, the first of three Tests against the touring West Indies, Broad said, "It's stepping into the unknown completely."

That unknown includes the pink ball, changing sleep patterns and different meal times -- with the subsequent impact on energy levels.

There's a sense that England is treating the match at Edgbaston as a learning experience as much as a Test. It's unusual for a top international sports team to feel so underprepared for a game.

English players are sweating it out at Edgbaston to prepare themselves for an entirely different experience.
