Sydney, Jan 23: India can return to the top of the Twenty20 Internationals' rankings in the ICC table if they make a clean sweep of the three-match series against Australia starting in Adelaide on January 26 (Tuesday).

The Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led side will replace current number one West Indies if they whitewash the hosts 3-0. The result will push Australia to as low as number 8 in the ICC T20I table.
A 3-0 win will take India to 120 rating points, 2 ahead of West Indies (118). Australia will end up with 110 points if they fail to win any game in the 3-match rubber.
It will be reversal of positions in case Australia win 3-0. Then they will go to the top and India slip to number 8.
As of today (January 23), India are ranked 8th with 110 points while Australia are 2nd with 118 points.
India have lost the ongoing ODI series against Australia 0-4. They were playing the 5th and final ODI in Sydney today.
