"You are the new Sachin Tendulkar for the fans," Pakistan's former cricketer turned commentator Rameez Raja told Virat Kohli in one of the post-match interviews during the ICC World Cup 2015.

Well, this is a great compliment for India's best batsman at the moment. Many of the game's followers too feel the same way as the Delhi boy is busy breaking batting records.
Whether or not Kohli turns out to be India's next Tendulkar, it is at least best for the right-handed batsman to follow in the footsteps of the legendary cricketer in terms of behaviour on and off the field.
Kohli is often known as a hot-headed guy. He doesn't hold back if anyone targets him. Every now and then his aggressive side is displayed on the field and off it. (Kohli-Dhawan fight)
The latest episode was unveiled in Perth when Kohli picked on a senior Indian journalist to use "filthiest of language" (Hindi) over a newspaper report of him and his girlfriend Anushka Sharma.
It was later realised by Kohli that the scribe who was at the receiving end of his abuse was not the actual person who he wanted to target. It was a case of mistaken identity. ('Kohli is spoilt brat')
The journalist has in detail written about what happened in Perth on Tuesday afternoon (March 3). And Kohli, after realising his mistake did not apologise to the reporter directly but chose to say sorry through another journalist.
This is not the first time Kohli has misbehaved publicly. There have been past instances where the ODI vice-captain has lost his cool.
Even he fought with his Delhi team-mate Gautam Gambhir on the field during an Indian Premier League (IPL) game. During the ongoing Australia tour, he clashed with the hosts' cricketers on the field.
On the previous tour Down Under, he made an obscene gesture (using the middle finger) towards a hostile crowd during a Test match in Sydney.
There were also reports of him having a go at Shikhar Dhawan in the dressing room during a Test couple of months ago in Australia.
All these incidents are turning Kohli into a bad boy of Indian cricket. It is best for him to not only emulate greats like Tendulkar in terms of batting records but also on the personal front.
There are plenty of gentlemen cricketers from India like Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, VVS Laxman and others to learn from. He need not look far away as MS Dhoni has maintained a calm exterior in terms of adversity.
Kohli is set to take over as India's full time captain, both in Tests and ODI in the near future. He needs to set an example. Some of the Australian cricketers have called him "spoilt brat".
What he did yesterday is not the way a leader behaves. And the team officials, BCCI needs to rein in the boy from Delhi before he goes out of control.
The best way to answer your critics is through a bat in the hand not through your mouth.
