BCCI refuses to help Commonwealth Games organisers

By Samyuktha

Mumbai, Jul 31: Troubles only seem to be mounting for the Organising Committee (OC) of the Commonwealth Games (CWG) 2010 as the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has refused to come to its rescue with the requested Rs 100 crore financial aid.

The chairman of the CWG Organising Committee (OC) Suresh Kalmadi had written to the cash-rich BCCI seeking financial assistance in tune of Rs 100 crore.

However, the BCCI on Saturday, Jul 31 said that it will not be able to help the Delhi CWG organisers.

This is the latest development in what has been a bitter relationship between the BCCI and the Indian Olympic Association (IOA), which is headed by OC chief Kalmadi. The two sports bodies have, in the past, waged a war of words over various events.
