New Delhi, July 25: Sachin Siwach as 17-year-old boxer from Haryana has been doing wonders at junior level.

He might be the only Indian boxer in the junior level, in recent times, who has been consistently winning medals at international arena.

Boxing: Despite financial crunch Sachin Siwach is making quite a sensation

He won a gold medal in 49 kg category of the World Championship, last year. This year he has clinched a silver in the recently held Asian Championship.

On Monday (July 24) Siwach surprised the Indian boxing fraternity by winning a gold medal in the Youth Commonwealth Boxing Championship.

But the Haryana lad has been struggling with financial crunch. His coach Sanjoy Sheoran also has been passing days through similar financial crisis.

After Sachin won gold medal in the World Championship, last year, Haryana government had announced a reward of Rs 10 lakh for him. But according to Sachin's father, Kishan Siwach, the amount hasn't yet been credited to his son's bank account.

On Monday, Kishan Siwach told from Bhiwani over phone, “After getting the state government's grant (Rs 10 lakh) I have desire to repair our broken house. Actually, I had one buffalo and a cow. I used to sell their milk among in the neighbourhood for a living. But the buffalo died recently reducing my earning. How much milk could a single cow yield?"

Same has been the plight of Sachin's coach Sanjoy Sheoran's academy.

The coach, while speaking from Bhiwani over phone, on Monday said, “I have not been able to build up even a wooden floor for the students' training. The mud floor was uneven. It has been leveled recently and ropes have been set all around for students' practice. Sachin won gold medal by training in this unscientific and old infrastructure."

Sachin's aim is now to win a medal in the Asian Games. Sheoran revealed, “Next year Sachin will be senior and he has set eyes on next Asian Games and in a bid to make him stronger I have been showing him the video footage of two legendary boxers: Mohammed Ali and Mike Tyson."
