World record: Delhi's Mohit Ahlawat smashes 300 in T20 cricket

Delhi's Mohit Ahlawat scripted history scoring 300 runs in a T20 match in a local tournament.

New Delhi, Feb 7: Delhi batsman Mohit Ahlawat created world record as he became the first batsman to score 300 runs in an innings in T20 cricket, as reported by ABP Live.

Ahlawat, 21, who has represented Delhi in the Ranji Trophy, smashed a triple century in just 72 balls hitting 14 fours and 39 sixes.

The youngster hit five sixes in the last five balls of the innings as he scored 34 runs in the final over. His team posted a mammoth total fo 416 runs in 20 overs.

Ahlawat was representing local side Maavi XI against Friends XI in a local tournament names Friends Premier League.

Mohit made his Ranji Trophy debut for Delhi in 2015 against Rajasthan. The right-handed wicket-keeper batsman has played only 3 matches so far for Delhi scoring just 5 runs.

The highest individual score in T20 cricket belongs to West Indian batsman Chris Gayle who scored an unbeaten 175 in the Indian Premier League for Royal Challengers Bangalore against Pune Warriors India at Bangalore's M.Chinnaswamy Stadium in 2013.

In T20 Internationals, Australia's Aaron Finch scored the most runs in an innings, 156 against England in 2013.
