'Drunk' Sri Lankan cricketer creates panic in flight

Colombo, July 2: An unnamed cricketer of Sri Lankan A Team would face the wrath of Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) soon.

According to media reports, the player, under influence of alcohol, created panic in a British Airways flight. The cricketer reportedly had tried to open the cabin door at 35,000 ft.

The SLC ordered an inquiry citing the. The team had gone for a tour in West Indies to play two four-day 'Tests' and 50-over and Twenty20 internationals.

Addressing the media reports on the "drunk" cricketer, an official statement of SLC said, "...Sri Lanka Cricket wishes to announce that it is disappointed to hear of such an incident and SLC will discuss with the Manager of Sri Lanka 'A' Team."

"An inquiry will be conducted based on the Manager's report and disciplinary action will be taken on the player concerned if found guilty," added the statement.
