Facebook's Ganguly fans plan protest march

By Pti
Kolkata, Jan 14: Mass support poured in unabated for Sourav Ganguly as members of a newly-formed community in a social networking site today planned a silent candle light protest against the ''unjust treatment'' meted out to the former Indian captain by Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL auctions.

Ganguly, who found no takers in the IPL IV, is getting support from fans who have formed a ''No Dada No KKR'' community in Facebook.

The members of the community, having 2200 members, have planned the march from Victoria Memorial to Eden Gardens on Sunday evening.

"Ganguly is the most successful captain in the history of Indian cricket. We are appalled at the puerile and myopic attitude of the team management of KKR and hence we are organising this peaceful march to show solidarity with the Prince of Calcutta," a member of the community said.

"We want to drive the message to KKR management that Kolkata Knight Riders is now dead to the cricket fans of the city," he said adding that it would be a silent march with no sloganeering.

Members of Orkut community 'No Ganguly... No Eden' having 500-plus members will also support the protest, he said.
