Jamshedpur, Oct 1 (UNI) Former Jharkhand's finance minister Raghuvar Das today urged Tata group chairman Ratan Tata to inquire about the facts that led to shifting of proposed ODI between England and India here on November 23 to Bagalore.
There was an allegation that denial of Tata Steel's local management to provide Keenan Stadium to the hosts, Jharkhand State Cricket Association forced the BCCI to change the venue.
Mr Das, also a local MLA, in a letter to Ratan Tata said '' We are very proud of you and the founders of Tata group who had provided all amenities to promote cricket and other sports, but unfortunately the Tata Steel local management has diminished the prestige of the group by this act. The local management allegedly did not provide Keenan stadium to the hosts JSCA despite their repeated requests. They also denied the request of JSCA to bear the cost of repair of the galleries.'' Expressing apprehension that the local management might not have made their chairman aware of the reality, Das wrote that Mr Tata should himself look into the matter and see that the dignity of the group was not further damage and the interest of people was not denied.
