The 15-member India squad for the upcoming ODI and T20I series against Sri Lanka has been announced by the BCCI.

New Delhi, Aug 13: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Sunday (August 13) announced the 15-member India squad for the upcoming ODI and T20I series against Sri Lanka.

Premier spinners Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja have been rested for the limited-overs tournament while veteran India batsman Yuvraj Singh has been axed from the squad.

Yuvraj, who was part of the Indian side during Champions Trophy and West Indies tour, failed to maintain his place in the side. The veteran southpaw had a forgettable performance in the Champions Trophy and also during the West Indies tour, where he sustained some injury mid-series.

Team India will play 5 one-day internationals and a Twenty20 against Sri Lanka, starting August 20.

Karnataka batsman Manish Pandey, who led the India 'A' side to a tri-series win in South Africa, has been included in the squad along with Mumbai pacer Shardul Thakur.

India opener Rohit Sharma who was rested during the West Indies tour has once got a call-up for the series along with Yuzvendra Chahal. Sharma has also been named the vice captain of the team.

Young pacer Jasprit Bumrah too was rested during the West Indies tour has once again got a call-up into the Indian side.

The selectors have also rested India's regular Test pacers Mohammed Shami and Umesh Yadav.

However, veteran Suresh Raina, whose name was also doing the rounds, was not included in Virat Kohli-led side. Dinesh Karthik, who did well in the Caribbean Islands, has once again been neglected by the selectors.

The five-match ODI series will begin on Sunday (August 20) at Dambulla. Men In Blue's tour of Sri Lanka will conclude with one-off Twenty20 in Colombo on September 6.
