India script 3-0 whitewash against Sri Lanka: Twitterati hail Virat Kohli and boys

New Delhi, Aug 14: Team India added another glorious chapter in their Test victories after defeating Sri Lanka in the third Test and scripting a 3-0 clean sweep on the Sri Lankan soil.

Match scorecard

Sri Lanka were bundled out for 181 in their second innings as Virat Kohli-led side registered an emphatic win by an innings and 171-runs on the third day of the third and final Test.

Young Hardik Pandya and Kuldeep Yadav emerged as the top contributors for the side to outclass the Dinesh Chandimal-led side in every department of the game.

"A good day, a good win. Always nice to have a convincing win. I would say the regulars have performed, the biggest positive was Hardik's inclusions - he gives us a boost in the middle order. We are a young side, looking forward to all Tests, that's the only way you can be ruthless. We like to be proactive instead of reactive," said Kohli after winning his 19th Test as captain.

Pandya was named the man of the match for his maiden century which laid the foundation for India's win.

The Baroda all-rounder said he was glad that he struck his first ton here.
