Bengaluru, Aug 22: Two of the rising stars in international cricket - Virat Kohli and Steve Smith currently share some interesting statistics in Test cricket.
Both Kohli and Smith are involved in Tests at the moment, the former in Colombo against Sri Lanka and the Australian against England in London in Ashes series.
India captain Kohli and soon-to-be skipper Smith, who will take charge of Australia's Test team after the ongoing match, which is the last for Michael Clarke, now have few similarities.
Kohli, Smith are both right-handers and 26-year-olds. While the Indian compiled his 11th Test century last week, Smith also got to his 11th Test ton, yesterday (August 21) at The Oval. Kohli has 11 half centuries and Smith 12.
Coincidentally, both batsmen have so far played 63 innings in Test cricket to reach 11 three-figure marks. However, Smith has featured in 3 less Tests than Kohli, who is capped 36 times in whites.
In terms of total runs and batting average in the longest format, Smith is ahead of Kohli. The Australia's number three batsman has scored 3,095 runs at 56.27 while Kohli has 2,745 with an average of 46.52.
