Mumbai, May 31: While the world, especially the countrymen were expecting Team India skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni's response on IPL spot fixing scandal, it was Sachin Tendulkar who dared to break his silence.
Speaking about the recent scandalous fixing controversy, Sachin on Friday, May 31 was quoted as saying, "Developments in the last two weeks have been shocking and disappointing."
"It always hurts me when game of cricket is in news for wrong reasons," added the master-blaster who announced his retirement from IPL in the recently concluded season of the league.
Sachin's statement surfaced at a moment when critics slammed Dhoni for not confronting questions regarding the fixing row.
The IPL fixing scandal was busted with arrests of three Rajasthan Royals players -- S Sreesanth, Ajit Chandila and Ankeet Chavan. Soon many bookies including one small time Bollywood actor Vindoo Dara Singh were arrested by Delhi and Mumbai Police.
Investigating officers shocked all when they arrested BCCI chief N Srinivasan's son-in-law and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) owner Gurunath Meiyappan over the same scandal.
