IPL Fixing: Vindoo ignites controversy over Sakshi Dhoni

Mumbai, June 5: Vindoo Dara Singh, who was granted bail in IPL spot fixing scandal case, ignited an old controversy over Sakshi Dhoni. Just a day after his release from jail, the small time Bollywood actor regretted his decision of sitting beside Sakshi during IPL matches.

Sakshi, wife of Team India and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper MS Dhoni, was in news following Vindoo's arrest in connection with spot fixing scandal. There were rumours that Mumbai Police might question Sakshi regarding her connection with Vindoo. However, police later clarified their stand on Sakshi saying that Mrs Dhoni was not there in their radar.

Now, days after the controversy, Vindoo on Wednesday, June 5 claimed that sitting beside Sakshi was the "biggest mistake" of his life and that he feels sorry for her. Sakshi was one among the regular supporters of CSK and she was spotted with Vindoo during few CSK matches in IPL 2013.

Sakshi, however, did not make any direct comment on the controversy. But she turned up to micro-blogging site Twitter to express her opinion indirectly. During the ongoing debate over her alleged connection with Vindoo, Mrs Dhoni tweeted one line of a famous Hindi song, "kuch toh log kahengay...logo ka kaam hai kehnaa (people will say something, which is there job)."

The tainted actor, who allegedly had links with bookies and had played a major role in fixing row, asserted that he was innocent. The actor, who was also winner of TV reality show Bigg Boss, also claimed Gurunath Meiyappan was his friend and he too was not involved in spot fixing.

Meiyappan, who was known as CSK team principal and later was dethroned by the team, was arrested following Vindoo's statements before Mumbai Police.

Both Vindoo and Meiyappan were granted bail on Tuesday. The duo have been told not to leave the country and surrender their passports to the police. The court has also asked them to report to Mumbai Crime Branch office two days in a week.
