LJP burns Mallya's effigy protesting Bhajji's ''insult''

By Pti
Jalandar, Jul 20: The youth wing of Lok Janshakti Party in Punjab on Tuesday burnt an effigy of industrialist Vijay Mallya in protest of a controversial advertisement allegedly showing Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni "mocking" at spinner Harbhajan Singh.

LJP demanded that the ad spoof should be called off air immediately and that Mallya should apologise for it.

"This is not just an insult to Harbhajan Singh but also to his family and the Sikh community," LJP youth wing president for Punjab Parminder Singh Kala said.

The United Spirits was served with a legal notice by Avtar Kaur, Harbhajan's mother.

Harbhajan and Dhoni endorse rival brands. The Indian skipper in an McDowell's No 1 Platinum advertisement allegedly makes fun of Harbhajan, who had featured in a advertisement for Royal Stag.
