MS Dhoni charged Rs 60 crore for his biopic MS Dhoni - The Untold Story?

New Delhi, Aug 29: The upcoming biopic on Team India's limited overs skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni, MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, is being anxiously awaited after the film's trailer was released earlier this month.

It will be the first occasion when a film will be released on a cricketer's life before his retirement from the game and it is generating all the right buzz across the nation.

Right from the start of the film's shoot, people were wondering how much MS Dhoni demanded from the filmmakers for biopic.

As per a report published in Daily Bhaskar, MS Dhoni demanded a sum of Rs. 60 crore from the filmmakers before allowing them to produce a biopic on his life.

Some reports even claimed that the cricketer had demanded Rs 80 crore from the producers. But negotiations went on and finally the Indian skipper was given Rs 20 crore right after he gave his nod to go ahead with the shoot.

Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput is playing MS Dhoni's character on the silver screen while Kiara Advani is playing the star cricketer's wife Sakshi Dhoni in the biopic.

The movie shows the most successful Indian cricket captain's journey from a TTE in Ranchi and his rise in country's most popular game.

The movie is directed by Neeraj Pandey and produced by Fox Star Studios and Inspired Entertainment and releases on September 30.
