'MS Dhoni could do something special at World Cup'

Dubai, Feb 3: Indian captain MS Dhoni could do "something special" at ICC World Cup 2015, feels former New Zealand skipper Stephen Fleming.

Dhoni, who led India to World Cup triumph in in Mumbai, will again be at the helm of the team, trying to retain the crown. (When Yuvraj won WC for a 'special person')

With less than two weeks to go for the biggest tournament of the game to start in Australia and New Zeland, former players have started picking the players who could make a huge impact and one of the them figuring in the lists is Dhoni. (Meet the Men-of-the-finals)

Fleming, who has been closely associated with Dhoni at Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Chennai Super Kings (CSK) as their head coach, has backed the wicketkeeper-batsman to come good again just like he did four years ago.

"Knowing him (MS Dhoni) as I do from our time together at the Chennai Super Kings I just have a feeling he could do something special," Fleming wrote today in a column for the International Cricket Council's (ICC) website.

He continued, "It is true he has nothing to prove - he won the tournament on home soil as captain with a six, for goodness sake - but he thrives on the big stage in the biggest matches.

"He loves being part of and winning battles and as he showed in the 2011 final, when he pushed himself up the order, he can be a catalyst for his team."

This year's World Cup runs from February 14 to March 29. Melbourne will host the final. India's opening match is on February 15 against Pakistan in Adelaide.
