No comment on cricket controversy: PM

By Staff

New Delhi, Jan 7 (UNI) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today refused to comment on the controversial umpiring decisions in the second cricket test between India and Australia which the Aussies won at Sydney yesterday.

''I am not very well informed about the controversy. It is not proper for me to comment on matters about which I don't have full details,'' Dr Singh told reporters who sought his views at Rashtrapati Bhavan after a function where Mr Vinod Rai was sworn as the Comptroller and Auditor General of India.

Replying to a related question, he said it was for BCCI President Sharad Pawar and the Board of Cricket for Control in India to take a view on the subject.
