Dhoni, who was playing for Jharkhand after a gap of 8 years, managed only 9 runs (24 balls, 1x4). The wicketkeeper-batsman was sent back early to the pavilion by a superb left-handed diving catch at 1st slip by Jammu and Kashmir's Rasool off left-arm spinner Waseem Raza.

The 34-year-old Dhoni had walked out to bat with his team in trouble at 73/3 in 20 overs. He made a slow start before he could settle and go for big runs, Rasool's stunning catch ended his innings.

Around 150 spectators had turned up to watch Dhoni at the ground, which is on the outskirts of Bengaluru. While some of his fans kept shouting for "Helicopter Shot," that never happened. He had hit one boundary before heading back to the dressing room. (Dhoni fans 'bribe' to enter ground)

Earlier, before the start of the game, Dhoni warmed up with bowling at his team-mates. He looked relaxed in his and team's first game of the tournament. Skipper Mithun Manhas had won the toss and elected to field. Jharkhand is being led by fast bowler Varun Aaron.

Dhoni's supporters will have to return tomorrow (December 11) to the same premises to see "Helicopter Shots". Hopefully they won't be disappointed.

Jharkhand were bowled out for 210 in 50 overs. In reply, Jammu and Kashmir were in control but collapsed after the 35th over to go down by 5 runs.
