Tendulkar, along with his wife Anjali, today met Modi and talked about his plans for "Swachh Bharat" campaign.
"Met @sachin_rt. He talked about his contribution towards Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan. His efforts towards a Clean India are phenomenal!," Modi tweeted on Thursday afternoon (October 16).
In another tweet, Modi said Tendulkar will adopt a village under "Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana".
"I am delighted to know that the sporting legend will adopt a village under Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana. @sachin_rt," Modi wrote.
On his Twitter page, Tendulkar wrote, "It was wonderful meeting Prime Minister Modiji. Enthusiastically heard thoughts on #SportsForAll."
Tendulkar was one of the several celebrities tagged on Twitter by Modi for "Swachh Bharat" campaign on the day of its launch on October 2, Mahatma Gandhi's birth anniversary.
