New Delhi, April 24: Now, if you are wondering why Prime Minister Narendra Modi is wishing India on her 'birthday', as Independence Day is still a few months away, then hold on for a few seconds before you jump into any conclusions.

In fact, PM Modi wished former South African cricketer Jonty Rhodes' daughter on her second birthday on Sunday.

PM Modi's birthday tweet was retweeted more than 7,000 times and got 17,000 likes till we filed the report.

Rhodes' daughter, India Jeanne, was born on April 23, 2015, at a hospital in Mumbai. The cricketer was in India at that time as the fielding coach for IPL team Mumbai Indians. So his wife delivered the baby in the city. The cricketer, known for his great fielding skills, shares a special bond with India.

"I really like that combination. You have to have a good balance of life. With the name like India, she will have the best of both worlds and that sort of balance," he said. Last year, Rhodes with his family, conducted a puja for his daughter in India.
