Pune, April 28: Rising Pune Supergiants (RPS) will be without their South African batsman Faf du Plessis for the remainder of the Indian Premier League 2016 (IPL 9).

The 31-year-old Du Plessis has been ruled out of action for 6 weeks due to a broken finger, the player himself confirmed today (April 28) on Twitter.
"And so my Ipl tournament unfortunately comes to and end.Broken finger and out for 6 weeks.Thanx India and @RPSupergiants it's been fun.👌🏼," Du Plessis wrote on his Twitter page on Thursday evening.
The right-handed opener is the second player Pune are losing due to an injury. Earlier, former England captain Kevin Pietersen was ruled out of the tournament due to a calf injury.
In 6 matches so far this season, Du Plessis scored 206 runs with 2 half centuries. His highest score was 69.
"Over & out, India! Injuries are all part of the job! Horrible tear in my calf! Sad to be leaving a really great bunch of boys but looking forward to being back with my family! London bound for a summer off! Vacation till November! Bye for now! Lots of love, KP xxx," Pietersen had wrote on his Instagram page after the injury.
Tomorrow (April 29), Pune will host Gujarat Lions.
