New Delhi, Sept 7: India off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has come up with a hilarious 'tennis ball' solution to curb the ever increasing dominance of batsmen in Twenty20 games.
Australia created world record in Twenty20 Internationals after opener Glenn Maxwell blasted a 65-ball 145 not out to help the side post a world record 263/3 in 20 overs in their 1st T20I against Sri Lanka last night (September 6). This was the highest ever T20I score.
Setting a mammoth target of 264 runs, Australia won the match by 85 runs against the hosts. Maxwell smashed 9 sixes and 14 fours in his brilliant knock.
This is now the joint highest total in T20 cricket, equalling Royal Challengers Bangalore's (RCB) 263/5 against Pune Warriors in Indian Premier League (IPL) in Bengaluru in 2013. In that game, Chris Gayle had hit 175 not out.
Immediately after Maxwell's exploits with the bat, cricket experts once again pitied the bowlers who feel dejected and literally have nothing much to do, for the shorter format favours the batsmen.
Senior cricket commentator Harsha Bhogle took to Twitter to wonder what will be the next target of batsmen in the T20s and even felt sorry over bowlers' pitiable conditions.

R Aswhin replied to Bhogle's remarks in his own hilarious way and suggested 'tennis ball' solution.
"4 overs of bowling power play, 2 of which can be bowled with a tennis ball and 2 with the bowling machine operated by a bowler," tweeted Ashwin.

To Ashwin's witty response Bhogle equated former with former India batsman Virender Sehwag, who has developed a knack coming up with funny oneliners.

Even former India cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar felt skeptical over prospects of bowlers.
