Bengaluru, Sep 1: Former India captain Rahul Dravid's son Samit hit a match-winning unbeaten 77 in a Gopalan Cricket Challenge Cup 2015 Under-12 match here on Monday (August 31).
Samit misses century
At the St. John's Medical College Grounds, 9-year-old Samit smashed 77 not out in Mallya Aditi International School's huge score of 210 in 16 overs.
In reply, the opposition team - New Horizon Public School was restricted to 96 in 16 overs, handing a 114-run victory for Mallya Aditi. For the winning side, Johann topscored with 91 and he had a partnership with Samit, who will turn 10 next month (October 11).
Dravid, who is currently India A's coach, has two sons - Samit and Anvay. Both of his children were seen at Indian Premier League (IPL) matches this year where they took part in practice sessions with Rajasthan Royals (RR), mentored by Dravid.
Samit was also seen showcasing his cricket skills at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru in 2012 when his father announced retirement from international cricket.
The Gopalan Cricket Challenge tournament started on August 31 and will end on September 5. The tournament, played on league and knockout basis, has over 23 teams in the Under-12 and Under-14 categories.
