Bengaluru, August 8: India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, who will miss the third and final Test against Sri Lanka at Pallekele owing to a suspension, has become the premier all-rounder in Test cricket in the latest ICC rankings released on Tuesday (August 8).

Jadeja is already the No 1 Test bowler in the rankings. The 28-year-old had grabbed seven wickets and scored an unbeaten 70 in India's innings win over the hosts in Colombo.

Jadeja has displaced Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan to claim the top spot. During the SSC Test, the Saurashtra man had also went past 150 wickets while playing in his 32nd Test. Indian skipper Virat Kohli congratulated Jadeja through his official twitter handle.

However, Jadeja will not be able to play in the final Test after accumulating six demerit points inside 24-month period.
Other Indian cricketers who are on an upwardly mobile curve are Cheteswar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane.

Pujara's 133 in his 50th Test has pushed him to third place with a career-high 8888 points, while Rahane has moved from 11th to fifth with his 132.

India's wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha has gained a career-best 44th position after moving up four places. Fast bowlers Mohammed Shami (20th) and Umesh Yadav (22nd) have also improved their rankings.
