#SachinversusWarne - Legends' new T20 league gets ICC nod

Dubai, June 3: Sachin Tendulkar and Shane Warne met International Cricket Council (ICC) officials to get approval for their Twenty20 league and the sport's world governing body has given the green signal to the legendary duo's new venture.

Tendulkar and Warne are set to launch a new T20 league - Cricket All Stars League. The tournament is scheduled to take off in the United States later this year. The pair, on Wednesday, said it was "Game on" after meeting ICC officials.

Both Tendulkar and Warne today tweeted under the hashtag #SachinversusWarne and said they met up with ICC officials.

"Exciting meeting today with the #ICC Game on
#SachinversusWarne !!!," Warne wrote on his twitter page with a photo of him and Tendulkar posing in a boxing stance.

Tendulkar wrote, "Looking forward to the challenge @ShaneWarne. GAME ON!! It is #SachinversusWarne!!!."

Some of the former stars including Sourav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid and Brian Lara are expected to play. Former Sri Lanka captain Mahela Jayawardene had confirmed that he was approached for this league.

Also today in Dubai, there was another T20 league launched. The Masters Champions League (MCL) was unveiled with Lara, Adam Gilchrist, Wasim Akram and Jacques Kallis named as "Icons". This league will have only retired internationals.
