By Super Admin

Hamilton, Mar 11: Virender Sehwag on Wednesday, Mar 11 blasted the fastest century by any Indian to help India clinch their first ever series win in New Zealand.

The flamboyant opener scored his century of just 60 deliveries and India won the match by 84 runs (Duckworth Lewis method).

Indian has now taken a three nil lead in the five-matches ODI series, with one more match to go.

Winning the toss and electing to bat first, New Zealand put up a respectable total of 270 in 47 overs for the loss of five wickets.

Chasing the revised target of 281, Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir gave the desired start to the Indian innings.

Sehwag hit six sixes and 14 fours in his 74-ball innings of 125, while Gambhir's knock of 63 came off 67 deliveries and contained six fours.

Rain interrupted Sehwag's fireworks and the target was again revised to 263 in 43 overs after the second time rain played spoilsport and then to 220 in 36 overs after the rain Gods obliged again.
