Panaji, Aug 23 (UNI) A fine hat-trick by newcomer Marcus Mascarenhas propelled Sesa Football Academy to start their campaign in style and rout Velsao Pale 4-0, after leading 2-0 at half time, in the Vodafone GFA Profesional Football League match, being played at Tilak ground Vasco in South Goa today.
The goals for the winning team came through Mascarehas in the 11th, 25th and 75th minutes to complete hat-trick and substitute Gabriel Fernandes in the 89th minute.
Sesa, who dominated the play right from the start of the play, surged ahead as early as in 11th minute of the first half through Mascarenhas and gained their lead in the 25th minute through a brace by Mascarenha. Sesa were leading 2-0 at half time.
Inspired by the two goals at the breather, Sesa continued their attack and pumped in two more goals in the 75th minute. Marcus scored his third goal and completed hat-trick off a well measured pass from substitute Gabriel Fernandes to make it 3-0.
A minute before the long whistle, Gabriel, who came in place of Lasely Fernandes, scored the fourth goal for his side off a pass from Marcus and sealed the fate of Velsao Pale.
