Smith returns to domestic cricket ahead of match up against Aussies

Johannesburg, Feb.12 (ANI): South African cricket captain Graeme Smith is fit and has announced that he will lead the side against the Australians after playing a couple of matches on the domestic circuit.

Smith returned to the practice nets this week for the first time since the famous Sydney Test last month where he bravely batted with a broken hand and busted elbow.

According to Fox Sports, he Smith will turn out for his domestic side the Cape Cobras as he ramps up his preparation for the first Test against Australia at Johannesburg starting on February 26.he man who led South Africa to a historic Test series win in Australia - and belted 326 runs at 65.20 in three Tests - insisted his fractured hand has totally healed.

He said he has delayed surgery on his chronic elbow injury but had a second revolutionary blood injection to speed up recovery in the troublesome area.

"My hand injury has healed completely. My elbow is also feeling good," Smith said.ith medical experts clearing the South Africa skipper to resume playing, Australia will be on red alert for another Smith-inspired Proteas onslaught. (ANI)
