Snape appointed performance coach of Rajasthan Royals

New Delhi, Apr 9 (UNI) Rajasthan Royals today announced that former England spinner Jeremy Snape has been appointed as the performance coach for the IPL.

Talking about his position with the Rajasthan Royals, Snape said,''My role as Performance Coach will be focused on helping the team develop into a strong unit. With some of the world's highest profile cricketers mixed with a handful of very talented Indian youngsters, there is much work to create an effective team.'' The 34-year-old holds a Masters Degree in Sports Psychology and has worked as a psychologist with England at the World Cup in the Caribbean last year.

He is currently playing for the Leicestershire County Cricket Club who have been closely involved in ensuring that his involvement allows his participation in the domestic 20-20 tournament in England.

Snape, who made his England debut in 2001, has played 10 one-day internationals for his country taking 13 wickets at an average of 31.
