Steve Smith equals Don Bradman and Jacques Kallis' record

Sydney, Jan 7: Australia captain Steve Smith hit his 4th century of the series against India to match Sir Don Bradman and Jacques Kallis' records.

Smith has now scored a hundred in each match of the current four-Test series against India. Today, the right-hander made 117 to equal Bradman and Kallis.

However, Smith and Kallis are now only the two batsmen to hit centuries in each match of a four-Test rubber.

Kallis in 2003-04 against West Indies. There are 7 other batsmen (Mohammed Yousuf, Ricky Ponting, Shoaib Mohammad, Ross Taylor, Mohammad Azharuddin, Matthew Hayden and Ken Barrington) who hit 3 tons in a three-match rubber.

The legendary Bradman hit 4 successive centuries against South Africa in 1931-32 in a five-match series. Bradman had scores of 226, 112, 167 and 299 not out in the home series. In the 5th and final Test, he could not bat due to injury.

The 25-year-old Smith started the ongoing series with an unbeaten 162 in Adelaide and followed that with 133 in Brisbane and 192 in Melbourne. He now has tallied 698 runs in 7 innings, averaging 139.6.
