New Delhi, Aug 22: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is not happy with Indian Cricket Team's official kit sponsor Nike.
Apparently, Virat Kohli and Company are not happy with the sub-standard kits and clothing.
As per a report published in the Indian Express, two top BCCI employees - Chief Executive Officer Rahul Johri and General Manager game development Ratnakar Shetty - raised the issue with the Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA).
The CoA chairperson Vinod Rai has reportedly expressed his concern over the same.
"It (Nike's clothing) has come up for discussion in last CoA meeting and chairman CoA (Vinod Rai) took it very strongly. The team cannot have sub-standard kits and we will be engaging with Nike and he has asked to put our case strongly. We have to engage with them, we will have a meeting with them (Nike) next week and try to resolve it at earliest," Johri was quoted by the report as saying.
However, Nike India hasn't yet come up with its response to the same.
Nike, a global sporting clothing wear brand, became Team India's official sponsor in January 2006 after a $ 43 million deal with the BCCI. Nike extended their association with $ 60 million deal in 2011.
