Bengaluru, May 3: Kolkata Knight Riders' (KKR) captain Gautam Gambhir does not hide his emotions when he is playing cricket. Be it at the international stage or in domestic or like last night (May 2) in the Indian Premier League 2016 (IPL 9) here at M Chinnaswamy Stadium. (Scroll down to watch video)

Gambhir is often charged up when he is on the field. He is an aggressive captain and batsman. He doesn't hold back, he lets his emotions out. And it was the same on view on Monday night as KKR defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by 5 wickets.

At one stage, KKR were in a hopeless situation, chasing 186. But thanks to Yusuf Pathan (60 not out off 29) and Andre Russell's (39 off 24) heroics, they bounced back brilliantly to succeed againt the Virat Kohli-led side. (Gambhir-Kohli fight in IPL8)

After erroneously adjudged LBW (for 37) to S Aravind by the umpire, Gambhir sat in the dugout watching Pathan and Russell demolish RCB bowling attack. As is the case, Gambhir had not removed his pads and was seated with his team-mates.

The 34-year-old opener went through some tense moments before finally he could smile in the 19th over.

When Suryakumar Yadav hit a boundary off left-arm spinner Tabraiz Shamsi, Gambhir jumped out of his chair and turned back to kick it. And then threw the towel. It was all emotions as KKR were close to victory with just 2 needed off 8 balls after the four from Yadav.

Soon after his angry reaction, team-mate Piyush Chawla put the chair back and Gambhir was back on it, not before uttering few words.

When it comes to facing Kohli, Gambhir seems to get extra motivation. The duo has a history of on-field altercations in IPL. And on Monday night, one of the 2 Delhi boys had to end up on the losing side.

It was Kohli's turn to be disappointed. Gambhir was smiling. It is over to Kolkata now for KKR-RCB Round 2 on May 16.
