Kohli, who is leading the Indian Test team from the front, has been in phenomenal form in the year 2016.

Sehwag went on to accept publicly, during the post-match 4th Test show in Mumbai, that Kohli is more than prepared to lead India in all three formats and selectors should handover the captaincy responsibilities to the Delhi lad.

The last ODI series India played outside India was in Australia which Men In Blue lost 4-1.

Both Dhoni and Kohli admire each other and follow each others whenever needed.

Dhoni, during the ODI series against New Zealand, revealed that he has already started using Kohli's leadership skills and often interacts with him during matches.

While 28-year-old Kohli, who took over the Test side's reigns after Dhoni retired from the longer format, thanked his predecessor for his transition from a player to a leader.

Under Kohli's leadership, India have won 5 Test series and the Delhi lad's individual performance has only improved ever since he became Test skipper. As a captain, the aggressive Delhi batsman is yet to lose a Test at home.

Virat has become only the first Indian Test skipper to have slammed 3 double hundreds and also the first Indian to do it in a calendar year.

Kohli is also the leading run-getter in international format.

Earlier, Sehwag said he is confident that the current Test team under Kohli has the quality in its pace attack to win outside the sub-continent just like Sourav Ganguly's team did during 2000-2004.

The Test team under Kohli has been invincible at home, having thrashed South Africa and New Zealand by identical margins of 3-0 and is also on a roll against England leading 2-0 in a five-match series.

"I believe this team under Virat has the quality and capability of winning Test matches outside the sub-continent. They can definitely emulate the performances of the team that played under Sourav Ganguly and won Test matches in England and Australia," Sehwag told during an interaction.
