New Delhi, July 13: As India's historic Natwest Trophy win against England completed 14 years on Wednesday (July 13), nostalgia gripped former India cricketer Virender Sehwag.

The 37-year-old Sehwag, who played in that ODI, laid the foundation of Indian victory with his quick-fire 45-run-innings in 49 deliveries. Sehwag and Sourav participated in an opening stand of 106 runs, before the skipper departed in the 15th over, but their opening exploits inspired the Indian side create history.

Sehwag has rightly called that match emergence of a 'New India' for that particular victory inspired the Indian side which went on playing next year's World Cup final against Australia.

Yuvraj Singh (69) and Mohammed Kaif (87*) were the heroes of the Indian victory for their 121-run-partnership for 6th wicket.
India were languishing at 146/5 when the Yuvraj-Kaif duo steered the Indian innings off troubled waters and snatched victory off England's jaws and handed Team India a historic 2-wicket victory.
