Hameed's father too accompanied his son to meet the 'god of Indian cricket'.

"Incredible getting to spend time with my childhood inspiration, the genius @sachin_rt #TheMaster," tweeted Hameed.

Hameed was ruled out of rest of the series after suffering a hand injury during the 3rd Test match of the ongoing India-England series.

The 19-year-old talented youngster, who has already scored two fifties in his debut series, was hit on his hand by Indian fast bowler Umesh Yadav during the first day of the third Test.

Hameed batted in pain to score an unbeaten 59 in the 2nd innings of the 3rd Test at Mohali. However, his gritty 156-ball knock could not prevent his team from losing the 3rd Test by 8 wickets. India took an unassailable 2-0 lead in the five-match rubber.

Hameed had made his Test debut in the 1st Test of the series in Rajkot. He has been impressive so far in the series but his Indian sojourn ended due to a finger injury sustained while batting on the 1st day of the 3rd Test.

Even Indian skipper Virat Kohli lauded the teenager for his gritty innings and wished him speedy recovery.

When was asked about Hameed's knock in the post-match press conference and the Indian skipper told, "I wish him a speedy recovery. He showed great character for a 19-year-old, to be honest, at this level."

On his debut series on a challenging tour of India, Hameed impressed cricket experts who feel he could be a great opening partner for Alastair Cook.
