Any replacement related to injury can be made only after a written submission to the Event Technical Committee along with a diagnosis from a medical practitioner. Once replaced, a player may not return to the squad excepting an approved subsequent replacement for another injured player.

The ICC's Event Technical Committee of the upcoming World Cup includes Geoff Allardice (ICC General Manager - Cricket, Chairman), Campbell Jamieson (ICC General Manager - Commercial), Gavin Larsen (Cricket Operations Manager, New Zealand), John Harnden (Chief Executive, CWC 2015 LOC), Russel Arnold and Sanjay Manjrekar (independent nominees).

Ireland, who are clubbed with India, Pakistan, the West Indies, South Africa, Zimbabwe and the UAE in Pool B of the 2015 World Cup, will play their opening match against the Caribbeans at Saxton Oval in Nelson on February 16.
