London, Sep 1: English Premier League giants Chelsea FC bought as many as five players this transfer window as newly appointed manager Antonio Conte aimed at a massive overhauling of the Blues squad.

On the deadline, Chelsea grabbed all the limelight by signing back Brazilian defender David Luiz from Paris Saint-Germain. Luiz had left the club in 2014.

The other signings are Belgian striker Michy Batshuayi, Fiorentina defender Marcos Alonso and Eduardo from Dinamo Zagreb.

They released/sold/loaned out 31 players in total during the window, the prominent ones being Loic Remy, Baba Rahman, Mohamad Salah.
