Bengaluru, August 18: Africa's richest man, Aliko Dangote, has once again expressed his desire to buy Arsenal and stated that if he succeeds in acquiring Arsenal his first step will be to fire the manager, Arsene Wenger.

The Nigerian business man is reported to be worth £8.6billion, and is known to be an Arsenal fan and earlier concealed his desires to takeover the club if majority shareholder Stan Kroenke, is ready to sell.

The Gunners are as of now owned by the businessman Stan Kroenke (70% share) and Alisher Usmanov (30% share), and keeping in mind that the two men are not quick to offer their stake in the club, Dangote suggested that he can entice the two representatives into a deal once he is ready to make an offer.

"The first thing I would change is the coach,' Dangote was quoted as saying in to 'Metro'.

"He has done a good job, but someone else should also try his luck.

"If they (Kroenke and Alisher Usmanov) get the right offer, I'm sure they would walk away. Someone will give them an offer that will make them seriously consider walking away. And when we finish the refinery, I think we will be in a position to do that.

"It's a great team, well-run. It could be run better, so I will be there. I will wait. Even if things change I will take it."

Without a title-winning season since 2003-04, pressure has grown on the Frenchman to leave his post for the last couple of years and many fans demanded Wenger to be sacked after he finished outside of the top four last term, missing out on the Champions League.

However, despite a revolt by the fans, the French manager signed a two-year contract extension at the club at the end of the 2016-17 season as Owner Stan Kroenke backed his deputy to give another chance.

Wenger has been in charge of Arsenal's first-team since 1996, leading them to seven FA Cups and three Premier League titles.
