Bengaluru, August 14: Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger has urged his teammates to react rapidly to their downfall against Burnley in the opening fixture of the Premier League and be prepared for next Sunday's big London derby against league rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

Chelsea had two players sent off while they succumbed to Burnley 3-2 in the first match of their English Premier League title defense on Saturday (August 12), escalating the worries encompassing the Blues after their disappointing activity in the transfer window.

Chelsea crumbled down in the pressure when captain Gary Cahill was sent off in the first half and following his dimissal, the blues conceded three goals in quick succession in the first half.

Burnley Striker Sam Vokes scored two goals from beautiful crosses from the wide areas, whereas left back Stephen Ward put another into the net with a scorching volley.

Although Chelsea put up a decent fight after halftime when record signing Alvaro Morata opened their account with a brilliant finish after coming on as a second half substitute in the place of Batshyayi.

But any expectation of a far-fetched come back vanished when midfielder Cesc Fabregas was red carded on the 81st minute after getting his second yellow.

Nevertheless, David Luiz tried to push for a draw with a second goal, but eventually, the Blues experienced the first disappointment of the season coming out losers to minnows Burnley.

Rudiger, Chelsea's £29million summer signing from Roma made his Premier League debut faced a defeat and after the match, the German defender admitted the team didn't deal well with the loss of Cahill, but states they must be ready now for next week's pivotal match to get back to winning ways again.

"If you have a red card early in the game it's a shock moment for everyone but we are all professionals and we need to do better in those kind of situations," Rudiger told Chelsea's website.

"We conceded three goals too easily. We tried our best but at the end of the day football is about results and we lost."

"We have to take the positives from the game, like the second half, work hard during the week and play a good match against Tottenham."

Chelsea will travel to Spurs in the weekend and the Blues will now expect a fired up performance from their team to prove their strength they showed last season again.

However, they could face a little difficulty in the match as regular first teamers like Pedro, Moses, Bakayoko, Hazard, Cahill and Fabregas will all be unavailable for the fixture.
