Beckham hopes to bow out of MLS on a high

By Biswajeet Panda
Los Angeles, Mar 14: David Beckham is all set to launch his final attempt to bag a Major League Soccer title as his club the Los Angeles Galaxy start the 2011 season on Mar 15 at Seattle.

Beckham has previously won six English Premier League till with Manchester United and a La Liga title with Real Madrid. He said, "It's not about validating my time here with the Galaxy. It's not all about myself being a success..Of course I want to win trophies and championships, but the most important thing is the club."

The Galaxy have assembled probably the best unit of the league to bolster their chances of winning the title. In Landon Donovan, they have probably the league's best player and Bruce Arena, their coach is also considered to be the best in the league.

In 2010 Galaxy lost to Dallas which ended their quest for the title. Colorado were the eventual winners after they beat Dallas in the title clash.

This is the fifth year of Beckham's five-year, $32.5 million deal with the Major League Soccer side LA Galaxy. There are chances that he may return to England, after being offered an invitation by Tottenham Coach Harry Redknapp.

As Beckham prepares to exit the MLS, the 2011 season will also see the arrival of former French international Thierry Henry who is set to begin his first full-fledged campaign with the Red Bulls team.
