London, Aug 17: Chelsea attacker Eden Hazard has provided manager Antonio Conte with a big boost as the Belgian returned to full training for the first time since injuring his ankle on international duty.

Hazard missed the entirety of Chelsea's pre season campaign due to a broken ankle sustained while on international duty with Belgium in June and had to undergo a surgery on the ankle which made him sit out.

However, the winger was picturised doing light training on Tuesday's in the training session at the club's Cobham base as he continues on the road to recovery.

Another star, the new defensive recruit Tiemoue Bakayoko has also taken another step toward full fitness after he trained with the Blues for the first time. The French international's knee injury delayed his debut since arriving from Monaco in a £40 million deal.

The duo's arrival to full training is a well-timed boost for manager Antonio Conte, who is handling a crisis of numbers ahead of Sunday's match against London rivals Tottenham at Wembley, however, neither of them is likely to be fit enough to feature in the match.

The Blues made a horrible beginning to their Premier League title defence on Saturday as they lost 3-2 at home to Burnley, an outcome which put Conte under a lot of pressure.

And adding salt to the struggle, the Italian now also has to deal with a selection crisis in front of Sunday's conflict with London rivals Tottenham after he lost the first team players Gary Cahill and Cesc Fabregas to suspension, while another attacker Pedro is doubtful through injury.

Pedro also remained sidelined on Saturday's defeat to Burnley and even missed yesterday's training due to an ankle problem which all but confirms his unavailability in next weekend's fixture.

Conte has been frustrated by Chelsea's lack of summer transfer activity this window which has left only 11 first team senior players available for their match against Spurs next week.
