Cristiano Ronaldo confident of winning the Euro 2016 title

Lyon, July 7: An inspiring performance from Cristiano Ronaldo guided Portugal to finals of Euro 2016. They have reached the finals after a span of 12 years.

In 2004, when Portugal had hosted the tournament they had reached the finals but shockingly lost underdogs Greece. Cristiano Ronaldo made his debut in 2004 in the international arena at Euro Cup.

After winning the semi-final against Wales, the Real Madrid superstar addressed the media. On asked about the 2004 final, he said: "This is different. I was 18, that was my first final. My debut. Now 12 years have gone by and now we are going to play another final. I am very proud of that. I have always dreamed of winning for Portugal, I hope it is our turn now."

He was further asked about their chances of winning the title to which he responded: "I am very confident and I believe that all these boys deserve it. I deserve it, Portugal deserves it, the fans deserve it -- every single Portuguese person deserves it. They've been amazing supporters," he added.

"We've yet to win anything but it's the final. I don't think many people thought that Portugal would make it to the final, but we are there. That fills me with pride, I am very happy. Now we have to get ready for Sunday and we want to make this dream true."

Ronaldo faced his club mate Gareth Bale in the first semi-final. It was a battle royal between the two Real Madrid stars in which Ronaldo emerged vicotorious. He scored a fantastic header and assisted for Nani's second goal.

On facing Bale and defeating him, Ronaldo opined: "I congratulated them on their run. They had an amazing run. They were the shining star here, the revelation team.

"I wished them good luck and as for the rest I would rather not say."
