London, Aug 19: Crystal Palace manager Frank de Boer has admitted he is considering a move for RB Leipzig youngster Oliver Burke in this summer.

The 20-year-old winger is believed to be surplus to requirements at the Bundesliga club just after a year.

Burke joined the newly impressive German side last year as the most costly Scottish player in history from Nottingham Forest for £13million but since then has failed to maintain his position.

The 20-year-old only appeared only in 25 matches, only 5 of them were as starters. However, with age on his side and so much promise to deliver, Burke is still regarded as one of Europe's brightest young talents in spite of his disappointing season with Leipzig.

And With Wilfried Zaha sidelined for around a month De Boer is now adamant to include players in wide zones, and Burke could be one of them.

The Eagles were humiliated in their opening session of the Premier League season last weekend when they lost to newly promoted side Huddersfield Town 3-0.

That outcome has just increased boss De Boer's direness to convey more creativity to Selhurst Park this window and the former Ajax boss has now conceded that Burke is one of his targeted lists.

He said: "We only want players who can really contribute to the squad.

"You're not going to throw money away, it has to be a quality player who can directly fit into the way we are playing and he has to be 100 per cent fit.

"He (Burke) is a very young, promising Scottish player. He's from Great Britain so it's always interesting to see those kind of players.

"He's still very young, maybe, but we are also focusing on other players."

Apart from Palace, other English clubs like Leicester City and Middlesbrough are also believed to be monitoring the Scotsman's situation.
