London, Mar 3: Manchester United need only 19 points in the remainder of the season to secure the title after comfortably beating Norwich City 4-0 at Old Trafford.

Shinji Kagawa netted a hattrick while Wayne Rooney made it four in the second half. Sir Alex Ferguson did not rest his stars despite Tuesday's Champions League tie against Real Madrid. Ryan Giggs, was expected to make his 1000th appearances in senior football, was rested against the Canaries.

Chelsea retained the third spot above Tottenham after a narrow 1-0 win over West Brom Albion at the Hawthorns. Demba Ba scored the only goal to secure three points. Rafa Benitez received a hostile reception from the home supporters after blaming fans for the downfall of the team.

Queens Park Rangers have hope in their survival bid after claiming three vital points against Southampton. Loic Remy opened the scoring for Rangers but was cancelled out Gaston Ramirez. Jay Bothroyd scored the winner in the 77th minute which is only third victory this season.

Everton closed the gap on fourth placed Tottenham after beating Reading 3-1 at Goodison Park. Maroaune Fellaini, Steven Pienaar and Kevin Mirallas scored for the Toffees while Hal Robson-Kanu scored a consolation for the Royals. Reading are still a point less from safety.

Swansea's celebration's continued with victory over Newcastle United at the Liberty Stadium. Luke Moore scored 5 minutes from time to claim a 1-0 win and the Swans moved to eighth in the league standings.

Sunderland came back draw 2-2 against Fulham Craig Gardner and Stepahne Sessegnin's second half goals. Dimitar Berbatov opened the scoring with a penalty while Sascha Riether made it two in the first half.

Jack Collison scored the winner for West Ham United against Stoke City at the Brittania Stadium.
