Even oldies can beat National soccer team: MS Gill

Mumbai, Feb 24: Sports Minister, Manohar Singh Gill on Tuesday, Feb 24 took on the national soccer team stating that even schoolboys and the old men of 1956 Olympic team can beat the team. The team is sometimes ranked 140 and sometimes 120, he said at a function celebrating the India team that finished fourth at the Melbourne Olympics.

"I don't know what has happened to Indian football. Now, they may even get beaten by the Australian school team. Even now, you may beat the present Indian team by two goals," he said.

The Minister underestimated the national team stating that the team is ranked 148th in the FIFA ranking and is sandwiched between Tajikistan and Lebanon.
