FIFA WORLD CUP RANKINGS: MEXICO: 20, CAMEROON: 50

Schedule; News; Photos; Points Table

Mexico will be making their sixth consecutive appearance in the World Cup although it rode more on results of other games to qualify in this year's edition and not many are backing this team in this year's tournament. The team failed to score a single goal against Portugal and Bosnia-Herzegovina ahead of the tournament. Star player Javier Hernandez will start the campaign from the bench as the coach has decided to play Giovani dos Santos and Oribe Peralta, thanks to an unimpreesive form. However, experts feel that it could go Hernandez's way as he has the record of scoring most number of goals as the substitute.

Both Mexico and Cameroon will look for a good start to finish second in group

Cameroon, on the other hand, hasn't been the same force it was in the 1990 edition. The team, which had made a dream World Cup beginning in 1990 by defeating mighty Argentina, hasn't earned much memorable victories this season apart from a couple of wins over Moldova and Macedonia, which are by no means big names in the circuit. Cameroon's inspiring performance was a 2-2 draw against Germany but it also suffered an embarrassing 1-5 loss to Portugal. Internal problems over bonus payments also look a threat to the team's performance while playing at the highest level. The team will be relying heavily on 33-year-old samuel Eto, who has scored 56 goals in 117 international matches.

This will be the first meeting of the two teams in FIFA World Cup.

The match begins at 9.30 pm IST.

Mexico Line-up: Ochoa: Reyes, Marquez, Moreno; Aguilar, Herrera, Pena, Fabian, Guardado; Peralta, Santo. Coach: Miguel Herrera

Cameroon Line-up: Itandje: Nyom, N'Koulou, Chedjou, Bedimo; Song, Matip, Mbia; Moukandjo, Eto'o, Choupo-Moting. Coach: Volker Finke
